Memorable Senior Moments

of Dianna L. Brumfield

My Good Shepherd

Easter Greetings:
I need You more than ever as my shepherd, Lord. You are my Jehovah Raah, my guide and protector. You have provided for my every need during this season in my life: my food, shelter and clothing and a way to serve are all given in complete sufficiency.
The peaceful streams You lead me past reflect a grateful remembrance of Your steady guidance over my life time. The good memories and bad ones all blend together into a provision of bountiful lessons, which bring me to a place of Shalom.
Sometimes my rest is enforced when You warn me I’m at the end of my strength and invite me to come into Your presence in prayer and a study of Your Word. There I am transformed by placing my full trust in Your love and care. I am renewed and refreshed by these times, my Lord.
You help me review my day’s journey each evening as I rest from my labors. In the morning, I’m filled with Your Spirit’s energy to start anew. You show me the best path to take as the day progresses which will bring You glory and provide me with wisdom.
Even when I’m fearful of the challenges I face, You walk close beside me to keep me secure and uplifted. Those who would harm me will not succeed while You are there. Your shepherd’s staff of protection keeps me safe in my widowhood as You watch over me. You gently lead me back to the fold if I grow lost as a straying lamb. Sometimes You carry me in Your arms when I’ve fallen into a hole of self-pity, doubt or worry by a revealed word of truth. I recognize Your voice when You call me back from wandering.
You have anointed me to act out the plans You have for each day of my life. You bless me beyond measure with material and spiritual bounty. I’m counting on Your unconditional love to cover me for the rest of my life and beyond into eternity. I praise You, my Beloved Shepherd, Jehovah Raah.
